The ”Maccabees Books” is a work that represents a certain part of the old-testament tradition about dramatic history of Israel and the old-testament chosen people of God. This is a stirring story about the suffering and the martyrdom of seven Maccabees brothers and their mother Salomy, the archpriest Eleaser and theirs sacrifice in the name of real faith and sanctity of Jerusalem Church. This is the first translation of ”Maccabees Books” published in serbian language. This masterpiece contains an introduction of all four books, and all needful notices added by bishop Atanasije, which this biblical story from II century B.C. make still actual and vivid.
